Recording Tips And Tricks

Compression changes the dynamic range of a sound by decreasing the difference between the loud and quiet parts. This helps to get the sound to site perfectly in a mix, but it also can be used to alter the sound to create a special effect. You can also use the side chain of a compressor to have one track alter the sound of another track. This video shows you how to use a compressor, the most popular settings for different types of compression and the different types of compressors available.
